One of AIA SD’s newest traditions is celebrating newly licensed architects in the state of South Dakota. This year at Design in the Hills, we had the honor of recognizing newly licensed architect, Megan Walz, AIA, from JLG Architects!
Congratulations on your achievement! Earning an architectural license is no easy task, and it takes a truly dedicated individual to endure the schooling, exams, and years of experience required to complete such an accomplishment.
Those who are still pursuing licensure, or newly licensed: AIA SD has brought back the Emerging Professionals group! Led by AIASD Board Members Teri Miller, AIA, and Justin Olson, AIA, this group focuses on assisting those on the path to licensure. For more information, check out the Emerging Professionals page on the AIA SD website: https://aiasouthdakota.org/Emerging-Professionals.
The Design in the Hills committee was formed in 2011 by architects, Kris Bjerke and Tanya Davis and interior designer Maggie Job. Over the years, many new faces have trickled through the committee as leadership in the AIA South Dakota organization has evolved, however Kris has been the anchor to an event which has become a much-anticipated gathering of designers in the Black Hills each summer. The current committee includes Ms. Bjerke, architect and AIA SD board members, Jenn Johnson, Brad Burns, and interior designers Jessica Bergeleen, Kelli Trebil, and AIA South Dakota executive director, Angela Lammers.
