Sioux Falls Design Week begins

Design Week is a week-long opportunity for the city of Sioux Falls to celebrate and explore a wide variety of design disciplines, from architecture to landscape design  to graphic design and more. The fifth annual Sioux Falls Design Week will be September 28th to October 5th. See event schedule here: www.siouxfallsdesignweek.com

This year like others offer a wide variety of activities for designers of all levels and disciplines to participate. We kick things off this Friday and end with the Art and Wine Walk where Jim Heroux (retired architect) will be demonstrating watercolor painting. This is hosted by AIA South Dakota and will also feature the recent awards given at the AIA convention earlier this month.

Keith Thompson, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, is a principal at Koch Hazard Architects in Sioux Falls and an AIA South Dakota board member.

  1. Fun events all week. SFDW was created and is coordinated by the Sioux Falls Design Center whose mission is to empower community through design. Design organization sponsors such as the AIA, AIGA, SDSU School of Design, SDID and others create and volunteer. The events will take place in different venues in the downtown area with most of them hosted in the Design Center space 108 W 11th next to Mama’s Lada’s.
