An open Letter to Blueprint South Dakota’s Committee

Dear AIA South Dakota,

I wanted to thank you and your communications committee for approaching the Sioux Falls Arts Council regarding hosting the Blueprint South Dakota blog in October. At first glance curating a blog for an entire month seemed a tall order, but we soon realized the many intersections between the arts and architecture and knew we would be remiss to not jump at this opportunity.

Architecture is the first of seven forms of fine art, followed by; sculpture, painting, literature, music, performing and film. The worlds of art and architecture as so closely interwoven yet are seemingly polarized at times. During this month we will feature a variety of contributors that walk the line between both worlds every day.

It is our hope by exploring these cross sections your readers will be encouraged and reenergized to reach out to artists and arts organizations to collaborate and integrate the arts into your daily practice. We hope to see a continued support for the arts in your professional and personal endeavors.

Thank you again for this space to give a voice to the arts.

Sincerely,

Kellen Boice
